Agility
Classes & Private Lessons
We
are currently taking bookings for our next Foundation class
which is due to commence in February.
All
our classes are designed with the ultimate goal of trialling in
mind, we don't just throw you onto the equipment without doing the
important foundation and skill work that is necessary for agility.
However if you never decide to trial you can still do our classes
just for fun, but we do warn you it's addictive.
Foundation
Foundation
work is the starting point for all handlers and dogs in agility.
It assists in building a strong bond between yourself and your dog
which will then help you working as a team in agility.
At
this level you will learn:
-
Shaping
-
Targeting
-
Rear end awareness
-
Basic ground (flat) work
-
Play and motivating your dog with food and toys
-
Tunnel fun (flexi and cloth)
-
Basic handling footwork
As
much of early agility training is done away from equipment, this
level is suitable to all dogs and handlers regardless of their
age.
Later
agility work is required to be off-lead, so we do require you to
have a reliable recall on your dog.
To
register your interest, please email info@aussieagility.com.au
and we will get back to you with further details.
Beginners
Open
to handlers and their dogs that have previously undergone our Foundation
classes.

Instructors
Our
Head Instructor Nikki has over 12 years trialling experience and
has been teaching agility at two specialist agility clubs (Action
Dogs & K9 Agility) for over 10 years. In 2013 she became
an agility and jumping judge at all levels.
Nikki
has competed in the Victorian Top Dog competition with two of her
dogs Splash in 2008 and Jet in 2012 and 2013. Nikki and Azra were
selected to represent Victoria at the 2012 Agility Nationals Teams
event in Sydney. Nikki and her dogs regularly compete at the
Masters level around Victoria and her home bred boy Jet (Ag Ch 500
Jadziah Super Sonic ADM JDM ADO SPDX HT) gained his Agility
Champion title at the end of 2012 – a massive achievement. They
are usually seen exiting the ring with a big smile on their faces
regardless of the outcome.
All
our instructors have extensive agility training and trialling
experience at multiple levels and with multiple dogs, so you can
be assured you will get the assistance you need.
Aggressive
Dogs
Agility
is a high arousal sport, so unfortunately dogs that are aggressive
towards other dogs or people are unable to attend.
